It started with a documentary

The idea for Kumasi arose while making a documentary about the cocoa industry for RTL/Videoland: 'Made possible' (52 min). Founder Lars Gierveld saw that cocoa farmers often live in poverty and, together with a few farmers he followed, devised a special plan to 'think outside the bean'. They ended up in a crazy adventure of juice, sweat and tears. Watch the documentary below.

What we achieve

By processing and commercializing as much cacao fruit juice and side-streams as possible, we create a measurable difference at the source. Today, we operate across Ecuador, Ghana, and Côte d'Ivoire. By processing locally, we retain value within the community, eliminate agricultural waste, and generate a structural second income stream for farmers.
